How we measure retreat results.

Every number on this site comes from the same process: a starting point recorded before the retreat, daily tracking for 30 days after it, and a written report at day 30. Here is the method, every published result, and what the numbers can and cannot tell you.

The method

The trust on a retreat is earned through shared experience. The measurement checks whether that trust shows up back at work, once the inspiration has worn off.

  1. 01 · Before you travelA baselineWe agree on three to five specific behaviors the team wants to change and record where the team stands today, so movement can be seen rather than guessed at.
  2. 02 · Last day of the retreatOne commitment eachEvery leader leaves with a single behavior tied to the retreat's outcome. One, not ten, because a narrow commitment is the one that survives a busy week.
  3. 03 · Days 1 to 30Daily trackingA morning reminder of the commitment and an afternoon check-in: did you do it, and how did it go. No app to download. When consistency slips, a facilitator re-engages.
  4. 04 · Day 30A written reportWe compare the team against its baseline and put the movement in writing, followed by a debrief with the team.

The 30-day challenge and the day-30 report are included in every retreat. For the reasoning behind measuring at day 30 rather than on the last night, see what a 30-day reinforcement looks like.

Every published result

Percentages are the improvement in the tracked behaviors from the baseline to day 30. Clients are anonymized unless they have agreed to be named.

Results vary with the team, the outcome chosen and how consistently leaders keep their commitment. These are the engagements we have published, not an average of every retreat.

What these numbers are, and are not

  • They measure the specific behaviors each team chose, so a percentage from one team is not directly comparable with another's.
  • The daily data comes from leaders' own check-ins. It is a disciplined record, not a controlled study.
  • Teams are small, typically 5 to 12 people, which is why we publish each engagement separately instead of pooling them.
  • Day 30 is the measured point. Longer-term change depends on what the team does next, which is where ongoing coaching through Be Legendary comes in.
